History

Established in 1980.

The Village Beach Market, a staple in the Vero Beach community, has been locally owned and operated by the Keen family since 1980.  As a Christian family, they strive to honor the Lord with their business.  Known for their high quality products, knowlegeable staff and outstanding customer service, its easy to see why they are a favorite place to shop.

However, the story didn't start there. The Keen's began selling groceries back in 1951 when Roy Keen opened their first store on the corner of US Highway 1 and 12th Street in Vero Beach where Staples is today.  Since then, Jerry, his son, opened three other stores; including the Village Beach Market.  Over the years he's had to close the other stores due to increased competition from large chain stores.  Now the Village Beach Market is his only store, but it remains strong and serves a loyal community that values smaller stores.

With the third generation already working in the business, the future of the Village Beach Market looks good.
